Bogi Eliasen and Chief Bill Erasmus to Conclude UArctic Congress 2026 and Ocean Connectivity Conference

After three days of Arctic dialogue, research, cooperation, and exchange across borders and disciplines, UArctic Congress 2026 and the Ocean Connectivity Conference will conclude with a Closing Session focused on reflections, future perspectives, and Arctic cooperation.
The session will feature keynote contributions from Bogi Eliasen and Chief Bill Erasmus, bringing together perspectives from futures studies, Indigenous leadership, and Arctic cooperation.
Bogi Eliasen is internationally recognised for his work on future leadership, societal transformation, and strategic development, while Chief Bill Erasmus has for decades been a prominent Indigenous leader and advocate for Arctic cooperation and Indigenous Peoples’ rights across the Circumpolar North.
The Closing Session will also include reflections from Margretha Jacobsen, Deputy Chair of the Senior Arctic Officials, and Jorid Hammersland, Deputy Director for Arctic Affairs of Sweden, alongside contributions from Arctic and international partners involved in UArctic Congress 2026 and the Ocean Connectivity Conference.
The programme will conclude with a cultural performance, followed by the Closing Reception “Ocean Night”, where participants will gather in a relaxed setting for an evening of Faroese food, networking, and cultural experiences.
The organisers are looking forward to a Closing Session that brings together reflection, inspiration, and a shared commitment to continued Arctic cooperation.
