Føroya Banki Group is one of the main sponsors of UArctic Congress 2026

We are very pleased to announce that Føroya Banki Group will serve as one of the main sponsors of the UArctic Congress 2026 in Tórshavn. This partnership represents a strong commitment to Arctic cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the development of sustainable societies across the region.
With a long-standing presence in the Faroe Islands and operations in Greenland, Føroya Banki Group is a natural partner for the UArctic Congress 2026. Their support plays a vital role in strengthening participation from Greenland, in particular by enabling more students to take part in the conference. Through its support, the Group contributes to dialogue and cooperation by enabling participation aligned with the Congress’s focus on collaboration and long-term development in the Arctic.
Below, Føroya Banki Group shares their perspective on the partnership and their role as main sponsor of the UArctic Congress 2026:
As a financial institution in the Arctic region, the Føroya Banki Group has a responsibility to support the development of sustainable communities in the Faroe Islands and Greenland, where the Group operates its business – in the Faroe Islands as Føroya Banki and in Greenland as Bankivik. The Group is therefore pleased to serve as the main sponsor of the UArctic Congress 2026, which will take place in Tórshavn from 26–29 May 2026.
The UArctic Congress 2026 will bring together researchers, decision-makers, and organizations with a shared goal of strengthening knowledge, cooperation, and long-term development in the Arctic – an objective the Group fully supports.
As part of its commitment, the Group has established a travel fund to enable more participants from Greenland to attend the conference. The purpose is to promote dialogue and diverse perspectives across countries, as the Group believes that genuine progress and development are achieved through collective effort.
Føroya Banki Group’s role as main sponsor stems directly from its core values: the mission to create financial security in the Faroe Islands and Greenland, and the vision of a future where everyone has the capacity to focus on what truly matters. The partnership with UArctic Congress 2026 is meaningful to the Group because it is rooted in strengthening the Arctic from within through collaboration, local anchoring, and responsible development.
